Meeting Time

How many minutes do I have for each meeting?

  • Meeting minutes are unlimited if it’s created and hosted by the teacher owner. However, if a teacher creates an event for other members in the class using the “allow join before host” feature and the teacher never joins the meeting, the meeting will be limited to 40 minutes.

Event Reminders

How do I create a Zoom event reminder?

  • Create > Zoom Event
  • Fill out event details
  • Click on “add reminder” under Remind Participants
  • Click on the up arrow or down arrow to adjust the minutes before the meeting (A minimum of 10 minutes is required)

Zoom Recording in Zoom App

Can I record my meetings?

  • The host receives the option to record Zoom Meetings to the local computer (not cloud) after launching the meeting with Zoom Desktop App and selecting the Record button.

Where do my meetings go? What is the recording title?

  • Recordings will be converted and saved on local computer from Zoom Desktop App when the meeting ends.
  • Users/[USERNAME]/Documents/Zoom
  • File title: Date time [event name] meeting ID (ex: 2020-12-04 10.09.20 zoom recording test 85884471914)

Can we record Zoom Meetings to the Cloud?

  • At this time this is not available, please reach out to your Account Manager for updates on Cloud storage.

Zoom Passcodes

Are Zoom Passcodes required?

  • Passcodes exist, but Edmodo users don’t need to enter them when joining a meeting.
  • Non-Edmodo users who are invited to join the meeting can use the passcode.

Co-Host (Zoom Desktop App only)

How Do I Change the Host?

  • Changing the host to an alternate host after the creator of the meeting launches the meeting.

Can co-teachers in a group/small group launch a Zoom meeting that is created by the group owner?

  • No, the creator of the Event is the only person who can launch the meeting. If the creator of the Event selects “Allow join before host” AND deselects “Enable Waiting Room,” then anyone can join the meeting without the host launching it.

Can Another Teacher be a Co-Hosts?

  • Currently, co-hosts can be given only on the Desktop App.

Zoom Participants

Can teacher members of the group who are NOT in the Org be able to join a Zoom meeting that is posted to a group of which they are a member?

  • Yes, participants do NOT need to be in an org to join a Zoom Event, they just need to be members of the Class/Group
