General FAQ (Admin)

There are three different user account types on Edmodo: Teachers, Students, and Parents. Depending on the account type, all of these have the ability to access and interact differently on Edmodo. Teachers can be designated as Admins which gives them increased functionality and a more robust experience. This quick list of FAQs aims to provide an overview of the Admin levels. As a School Admin, you will have the ability to: 

  • Create and manage members in your school
  • Create and manage Classes/Groups in your school
  • Communicate with and create events for all members of your School's Network
  • View the Organization’s general permissions

School-level Groups can be created by District Admins, School Admins, and Teachers and are designed to allow co-collaboration and allow members to focus on specific school initiatives. Members of these Groups need to share the same school affiliation.

As a District Admin, you will have the ability to: 

  • Create and manage schools in your district
  • Create and manage members in your district
  • Create and manage Classes/Groups in your district
  • Communicate with and create events for all members of your District and Schools Networks
  • View the Organization’s general permissions

District-level groups can only be created by District Admins and are useful for connecting members of different schools from within your district. District-level groups are visible to any member in the district

As an Org Admin, you will have the ability to:

  • Create and manage schools and districts in your Organization
  • Create and manage members of your Organization
  • Create and manage Classes/Groups in your Organization  
  • Communicate with and create events for all members of your Organization, District, and Schools Networks
  • Edit or update the Organization’s general permissions

Org-level Groups can only be created by Organization Admins and are visible to any district or school in the organization.
