Invite Others to Join Your Group (Teacher)

In addition to having others join your Group with a Group Code, you can now instantly add any Students at your School to your Group using the School Directory. You can also send emailed invitations to anyone within or outside Edmodo using their email address.

Note: These instructions are for inviting Group members only, i.e. Students or other Teachers. Parents cannot join your Groups like members. To invite Parents, please use the "Invite Parents" button

Here are a few different ways to invite new Group members:

 

To send invitations via email to people to join your Group

  1. Go to the Group’s home page.
  2. Select the "Invite Group Members" button on the right column, underneath the Group code.
  3. Click the “Email Invites" option on the left-side of the pop-up.
  4. Type in the addresses of the people who will receive this invitation. You can also click the appropriate icon below to import contacts from your email contacts list.
  5. Personalize your message, and click “Send Invites.”

The recipients will receive an email with a link taking them to a group join page where they can sign in or sign up. After signing in or signing up for their free account, they will see the option to request access to your group.

Note: When they receive the invite via email, the invitee will be requesting access to your Group, and you will still have to approve their request to join the Group.

 Use School Directory to add Students to your Group or Invite Teachers you are connected with to join your Group 

  1. Go to the Group’s home page.
  2. Select the "Invite Group Members" button on the right column, underneath the Group code.
  3. Click the “School Directory" option on the left-side of the pop-up.
  4. Start typing the name of your connection.
  5. Click on the name of the connection you'd like to invite. 
  6. Repeat for other connections.
  7. Click "Send Invites."

The recipients will receive a notification in their Edmodo accounts which they can accept or deny. Accepting will place them into your Group!  

To generate a PDF printable handout to share

  1. Click the Group on your left-side Groups bar.
  2. On the right side, click on the green "Invite Parents" button.
  3. Click the blue "View Invites" button.

When you click the button, you will get a PDF file which you can download that includes one page of instructions and that Group's code. This PDF file can be printed and as many copies made as necessary for your Group. 

Note: If your Group code is locked, you will need to unlock it in order to access your Group code PDF. Click the "Unlock" button to do so.
