Crocodoc Annotation Transition into Office Online FAQs

As of January 1st, 2017, all Assignment annotations are now completed through Office Online. With this in mind, we will be fully transitioning from Crocodoc integration into Office Online Annotations.

What will happen with my existing Annotations that were completed with Crocodoc?

All Annotations completed with Crocodoc will be accessible until January 1st, 2017. To access these files:

  1. View the Assignment post in your Group or on your main Post Stream.
  2. Click the “Turned In" button located on the Assignment post to view a list of all work that needs grading. (You will also receive an alert in your Notifications section any time a student turns in an Assignment.)
  3. Select a particular student’s name from the left panel to review the Assignment.
  4. Select the “Open" or "Download" button below the Assignment title in Crocodoc. 

After January 1st, 2017, Crocodoc Annotation files completed this School year will be available for download following the same steps above. 

How do I continue to annotate with Crocodoc until January 1st, 2017?

To Annotate with Crocodoc:

  1. View the Assignment post in your Group or on your main Post Stream.

Can I annotate with both Annotation with Office Online and Crocodoc?

Until January 1st, 2017, Teachers will be able to use both Office Online and Crocodoc to Annotate files. We want the transition into Office Online to be smooth and we hope to provide enough time for Teachers to ease into the new Assignment workflow with Office Online. 

Will I be able to annotate PDFs through Office Online?

Unfortunately PDFs are not supported through Office Online and cannot be annotated. The file types supported through Office Online can be found here.

What if I prefer Crocodoc to Office Online annotations?
