Will I still be able to Annotate my Students' Assignments?

Yes! If a Teacher is looking to leave detailed feedback, use Microsoft or Google Cloud Documents—both of which are deeply integrated with Edmodo Assignments and allow you to leave in-line comments on student work. Students can create new files with a single click or you can distribute individual copies for each student as you send out the assignment. To learn more, click here.

If a Teacher wants to leave feedback on an assignment as a whole, we also recommend leaving comments from within the Assignment’s Grading Overview. To learn more, click here.

Will I be able to annotate PDF Assignment Submissions?

Unfortunately, PDFs cannot be annotated directly within Edmodo at this time.

Why can I no longer annotate PDFs?

The ability to annotate PDFs is powered by Crocodoc and its parent company Box is shutting down the service at the end of 2017. We are looking for alternative solutions to support PDF annotations in the future.

How do I annotate with Office Online or Google Drive?

Annotating Assignments has never been easier through Office Online and Google Drive. Learn more about Office Online and Google Drive Annotation here

Didn’t you remove Crocodoc last year and bring it back a few weeks later. Can you explain more about what happened last year?

Last year, the Crocodoc team announced they were no longer supporting their annotation services starting January 1st, 2017.

After communicating the service removal to our Teachers and listening to your feedback, with the help of the Crocodoc team, we were able to extend the service for one additional year.
